Downtown Kelowna Association

Downtown is the city’s vibrant business core, with tiny one-of-a-kind stores selling books, souvenirs, and clothes in redbrick buildings along Bernard Avenue. Sushi, BBQ, and Italian cuisine can be found on a worldwide dining scene, while fashionable after-hours venues range from calm bars offering local wines to bustling pubs featuring live music. Kelowna City Park on Okanagan Lake offers a swimming beach and sports grounds.

Great cities have great downtowns. Downtown Kelowna’s waterfront amenities combine with historic charm to attract people to dine out, attend cultural events, shop, and work in the heart of our city: the largest center in the B.C. Interior.

BEST THING ABOUT DOWNTOWN KELOWNA

Kelowna’s downtown center offers a variety of views, tastes, and experiences, from the waterfront promenade and beaches to locally-owned eateries and outdoor activities.

  • You may stroll to the following locally-owned restaurants:

We all know Kelowna is a culinary destination, but it took me a long time to uncover the jewels that I am most devoted to. On Bernard Avenue, there’s Salt & Brick. Chef James Holmes is a well-known figure in the city. The restaurant serves a daily Fresh Sheet Menu with well-thought-out share/small dishes made with locally sourced, high-quality ingredients. Chef Holmes is always ready to provide feedback, so make sure to ask him about your meal.

  • The boardwalk and bike lanes that connect Rotary Marsh Bird Sanctuary to City Park (and beyond) are as follows:

One of my favorite downtown pastimes has always been this. It’s wonderful at any time of year, but especially during the summer months in the warm Okanagan sun. Begin your journey at the Rotary Marsh Bird Sanctuary (look for the resident beaver), then go to the Waterfront Park boardwalk, the downtown harbor, and City Park.

  • Year-round Happenings Concert in Stuart Park

There’s always something going on in downtown Kelowna, whether it’s the Kelowna Farmers’ & Crafters’ Market downtown satellite location (Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. during the summer), concerts, or food truck rallies. Here’s a Downtown Kelowna Calendar of Events.

  • Fill up your Growler at a nearby Brewery/Cidery.

With so many breweries in downtown City of Kelowna B.C., it’s easy to fill your growler. My personal favorite is the rotating tap at BC Tree Fruits Cidery, which is only available in growlers. Growlers are a great way to bring home craft beer that isn’t always available in cans or bottles. BNA Brewing and Tree Brewing are two more local favorites for fresh libations in growlers.
