Okanagan Lavender & Herb Farm

Okanagan Lavender & Herb Farm, a functioning family farm that has become a garden-inspired tourism attraction, is nestled in the hills of South Kelowna against a background of sweeping lake and valley views. On-site, 18 different fragrant herbs, and plants, including over 60 types of lavender, are cultivated, picked, dried, and distilled for use in the farm boutique’s hand-crafted botanical goods.

Visitors are encouraged to explore the traditional skill of essential oil and hydrosol distillation done on the farm, which was launched as the Okanagan’s first Économusée site. A three-acre garden with meandering walkways, a cedar hedge labyrinth, quirky sculptures, water features, and herb and xeriscape gardens are also accessible periodically for guided and self-guided tours. For the sake of their employees’ and customers’ health and safety, their garden and retail store will be closed for the 2020 season. Their entire product line is available in their online store, with curbside pickup available for local customers.

The Okanagan Lavender Herb Farm is a one-of-a-kind destination to spend quality time with your significant other, and here’s why:

  • A farm where romance thrives

The colorful blossoms make a fantastic backdrop for photos with your beloved, with rows of stunning lavender flowers. You have the option of taking a one-hour guided tour or exploring the gardens with your date at your leisure.

  • It is not prohibitively expensive.

Guided tours are only $15 per person and teach you all you need to know about working on a herb farm. Participants learn about a range of perennial and annual herbs, from trimming to harvesting. Prepare the heart-shaped jacuzzi – as an extra treat, everyone gets to take home their farm-grown bath mix at the end of the trip.

  • You can learn alongside one another.

The farm conducts seminars on aromatherapy, cuisine, body care, and other topics so that you can learn about all of the many applications for the herbs produced on the farm. On their website, you may pre-register for the workshops.

  • Make it a date you’ll never forget.

Have you ever smelled anything that transports you to another time and place? Take home a fragrant keepsake from the gift store to remember your visit to the lavender farm. Choose from oils, soaps, teas, and other items to help you remember your date day at the farm.

  • Location

Driving from Downtown Kelowna to the farm takes about 15 minutes, but once there, it feels like you’re miles away from the city’s rush and bustle. It is thought that the fragrance of lavender aids with stress reduction.
